How it works

Daily calorie needs are calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation:

For men: BMR = (10 × weight) + (6.25 × height) - (5 × age) + 5

For women: BMR = (10 × weight) + (6.25 × height) - (5 × age) - 161

Total daily calories = BMR × Activity Level Factor

Recommended adjustments:

  • Weight Loss: -500 calories/day
  • Weight Gain: +500 calories/day
